Because most of what we make is “cooked to order,” two weeks is our usual "time in shop."  However, the reality is that most orders can ship within two weeks ... and sometimes even less. (We would rather that you be pleasantly surprised, than bitterly disappointed.)

Domestic Shipping Charges
* There is a basic Handling Charge of $5.00 on all orders.*

Coast to coast has been taking 2-3 days.
NY metro area and Northeast 1-2 days

The USPS is expanding its range of services, including Flat Rate and Regional Rate boxes. We will always try to choose the most economical selection to keep your shipping costs down. What they charge us is what we charge you.

Overnite U.S. Express Mail is estimated at $28.00

Export Orders
    In addition to whatever the carrier charges, we tack on our regular $5.00 per shipment for Handling ... materials, labor, customs forms, bookkeeping etc.

On average, postal shipment to Canada has been costing about $28.00

England and Europe about $30.00 - $45.00
Africa, Asia and India: about $50.00

 
   We prefer to use the postal services and usually use Express Mail for our international orders because of the tracking ability. If you like, ask for the tracking number and follow your package's progress online at www.usps.com.

   Once we have delivered your parcel to a carrier you, the buyer, are responsible for all customs, taxation and any other legal issues in your own country. We will help you out as best we can with paperwork and labeling, but please advise us of your country’s requirements if they are out of the ordinary.

   We may be able to declare parcels as "toys,” “theatrical props” or “handicrafts” but usually we have to specify more fully.  We will do our best.  Because your shipment is insured and/or traceable, please don’t ask us to misrepresent the contents, or the insurance value of your shipment.

You can request that we use UPS or FedEx at their regular rates.
We will also ship on your shipping account, if you prefer.

  
   If you have a “special date” that must be met ... please call or e-mail to let us know. It is not impossible that the item you want is “on hand” or can be assembled quickly from parts "in house." We usually will ask you to give us permission to use faster service only if necessary.

   But, if we have to, “move you to the front of the order book” and use overnight shipping, you’re going to have to pay for the Expediting, as well as for Express charges.  (e.g. If you need the item made and shipped by the next day -- expect a 50% surcharge;  if “by the end of the week” , meaning two to three days in shop, 20-25% will most likely cover it. )

   We will only impose the extra charge if it means putting you ahead of many other people that have been waiting. However, if things are slow, we can probably meet most special dates without extra charge.

   So, please, call us for a quote. We'd much rather have you save your money for more toys, than spend it on shipping.

The SandMUtopian Guardian magazine

    Regular postage is included in the price of a back issue of The Guardian magazine.  For larger orders, a separate shipping charge is added. (See product rates above.)

FYI: shipment by US Mail is safe and the goods get there when they are supposed to. The US Postal Service does not trace insured parcels until 30 days after the shipment.  Private express company shipments may be easier to trace ... but are more expensive!
